Saskatchewan Oatmeal Cake Recipe

Boiling water |

Rolled oats |
1/2 c |
Margarine or butter |

Brown sugar |

Vanilla |
Pour water over oats and let cool. Cream sugar and margarine/butter. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add alternating with oatmeal mixture and sugar mix. Blend well and beat for 2 minutes. Bake @ 350 25-30 minutes in a greased 9x13 pan.

Melt margarine. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Add beaten egg yolks and other ingredients. Blend well. Spread on top of the hot cake and place in oven under broiler until topping bubbles.
