Dahl
2-3 Cups lentils, chick peas or other beans
2-3 medium onions, chopped
2-6 cloves crushed garlic
4 tomatoes chopped
2 cans tomato paste
1 tbsp. ground ginger, or fresh ginger
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. coriander
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
salt and pepper
1 / 2 C milk
Cook beans. Fry garlic and onions until soft. Add tomatoes and spices and cook for a few minutes. Add beans, tomato pasta and milk until runny. Simmer until dahl has a smooth consistency. Serve with rice.
